Teaching Art and such...
Well here it is already the 21st of November!
I haven't been keeping up with my blog for a variety of reasons Im sorry to say.
First and foremost I have been away from my classroom and studio for a while now.
My sweet mother became ill and passed away late in October. I feel fortunate to have been able to be there with her.
I have been busy trying to catch up with all the responsibilities of being a teacher
and I do hope to return once again to my studio.
My parents always supported my brother and sister and I in any of our endeavors and
it is to them I dedicate my next painting. I have been working on it for a long time and now am
almost finished with it!
I can hardly wait to complete it and take some photos to share it with you!
So bear with me as I do plan to
return to writing my blog and sharing mart with you!
Hugs to you all my friends!

My Faux Hobonichi Journal
As I wrote before this is my Faux Hobonichi Journal
I made from a Composition notebook
Here are some pages from my journal
As you can see I am drawing the events of the day and adding a bit of text…
This page (on right)was back from August 12.
It was my Dads Birthday (He would have been 92)
I had bought a lottery ticket (not a winning one)
It was the day when the sad news of Robin Williams suicide came out.
Oh and I had a run in with a huge wasp in my bedroom .
And, we had fish for supper...
You may wonder how I ever heard of the Hobonichi Journal?
She explains it so well and also shares samples from her own Faux Hobonichi Journal.
Vicky also has a blog at
Makeupnall.blogspot.com
So...Thats all for now
Come back again soon!

Hobonichi
Hi again my sweet friends!
Hope you each are having a good week!
Can you believe its Wednesday already?
I want to introduce you to what I have been working on for
the past couple of months. Its my Faux Hobonichi Journal.
I made this book myself from a composition notebook.
First let me tell you( incase you are not familiar with) what is a Hobonichi Journal is…
A Hobonichi Techo is a very popular Japanese planner or journal
"Pages display the current moon phase, the day/week of the year, and short anecdotes, and are designed as graph paper to maximize customization."
I draw daily sketches in my own cartoon style.
Here are some for today…

You can add the weather report or headline news or even horoscope!
The top picture is me driving in to work today and a car pulled out and almost ran right into me!
The other drawing is a camel as it is Hump Day!
I started my "visual " Faux Hobonichi Journal
back in August when I went to the Cape on vacation

Sorry for the gap in time...
Hi my friends!!!
I am so sorry that time seems to be zipping by me between my posts!
The weather is so much cooler today that I'm thinking autumn is surely on its way!
So get those mums planted and the bushels of apples picked!
I love to decorate for fall don't you?
Place some pumpkins on a hay bale and tie some corn stalks to the
lamp post with a bright orange ribbon.
Here are some photos around my home.

Enjoying summer
It has been a fantastic summer!
I do so hope it has been the same for you all, my sweet friends!!
Two weeks ago wee were at the lake (lake Seneca) in NY state
with my two daughters and their families plus my son in laws parents!
What an eclectic fun mix of people!!!
One of my cuties!
This is a shot my grandson took while the camera was around
my neck and I was holding his sweet face
He surprised me with this shot !
We rented a lovely home that was right on the lake!
We went fishing and swimming and kayaking during the day
and had campfires and roasted marshmallows at night!
Here is my youngest daughter and her little guy
Here my other two grandsons are checking out the lilies
We went out to lunch on one of our last days at the lake
I had picked up some adorable finger puppets and here the children retrying them out
while we waited for the food.
The evening became quite bait cooler but, perfect to chill out by the fire.
I do so hope it has been the same for you all, my sweet friends!!

July 9, A Beautiful Day!!
Hello once again my sweet friends!!
Hope that you are all enjoying this fantastic summer weather!
We certainly have had some hot , humid days but after the winter I had…
You will not hear me complain!!
Just returned from a wonderful vacation to Williamsburg.
It was relaxing, educational and fun!
This is me in front of the Rockefeller home
Now, I am inspired to try to work on my house and have it filled with the flavor of
Colonial Williamsburg!
It is a colonial style with a large entry way and center staircase.
We redid the entrance way last year. We added crown molding and repainted the walls
in two tones of colors….Williamsburg Blue and Cream.
My one splurge or gift I bought while in Williamsburg was a beautiful brass double arm sconce.
I can hardly wait to hang it and add my candles to it!
Hopefully I will get some more of my photos up in my next posting!
Until then stay cool and Hugs to you all!!!

Beautiful May-Art Show
Welcome dear friends!
Yes it is now May!
I had a lovely Birthday celebration earlier this month!
One of my favorite gifts was the beautiful floral arrangement
from two of my little grandsons! It was full of color and included roses, lilies, snap dragons and many other flowers that I do
not know the names of…
May is one of my favorite months! It's when the weather truly
changes for the better. Flower's just seem to pop out of every nook and cranny.
And it is time for the yearly Student ART SHOW at School!!
On exhibit were various art projects from the 3D Design class, the Drawing & Painting class and both Graphic Design classes. We also had some photos from the Art/Photography Club.
Handmade water colored books

Busy With Commission Pieces
Hi all once again!
Before I begin may I say how delightful the weather has been this past week!
Yes there have been clouds and rain but there also has been SUNSHINE and warmer
temperatures! Yippeee Spring has arrived!!
As you can see…
I have been working on several commission pieces
I do so enjoy working on these I just wish I had more free time to devote to finishing them!
I brought some tulips for a dear friends Birthday and even though they have long since died away I have been enjoying the lingering effects from Photoshop.
