Happy Earth Day 2013!

It was a beautiful day out today even though the temperature and
wind made it a bit chilly.

I have just returned from my SpringBreak.

We went to Myrtle Beach for 10 days. It was wonderful.

Every day we rose early and with coffee in hand made our way down to the

 beach to watch the sun rise. The sky would lighten up bit by bit and the surrounding clouds would go from gold to pink and slowly the ball of sun would rise in the sky. I would walk along looking for seashells while my husband took many spectacular photos. I use to be the photographer in the family but now John has taken up the hobby and I just enjoy making sketches of the events.

Myrtle Beach is such a relaxing and beautiful place.  We stayed at the Marriott Villas where should you tire of the beach you can always find a selection of activities to attend.

Every morning (after our sunrise walks) we attended a yoga class. I felt so healthy and stretched out afterwards. In fact I enjoyed it so much I'm going to look into taking a class regularly here at home.

Twice my sister and I went to a Zumba class. What a workout!!! Should have sweat off several pounds you would think....but let me tell you about the restaurants we visited !!!! My favorite has always been the Sea Captains House. (It still is one of my favorites ) this time we also ate at the Gulf Stream Cafe, The Conch Cafe and the Parsons Table. Each meal  was better than the next!

I do love my seafood as much as I LOVE the sea!

Easter Weekend

I hope each one of you had a lovely weekend!  I certainly did!
Easter is one of my most favorite of holidays !

This year I was unable to make it back home 

to Kentucky to be with my parents, brother and his family.

We made the best of it and were delighted to have good friends come and celebrate the day with us!

I made lamb with a gin & red currant jelly sauce. Ohh man it was yummy! Also, I made sweet potatoes, salad, corn pudding and fresh green beans with a homemade Green Goddess dressing .

To top it off for dessert we had a 

wonderfully delicious 

chocolate 

Easter Egg Cake

 from the Sturbridge Public House.

Now, of course I did miss being with my two daughters and their families but...Maybe next year!  (I adore seeing my 3 little grandsons all dressed up in their Sunday best!)

Maundy Thursday

Hello once again!
I am looking forward to singing in the church choir tonight!
Of course it wont be as lively as the hymns were on Palm Sunday.
But I love to sing none the less!

I have been puttering around with etching on copper. On thing I enjoy
 is doing "zentangles" on a piece of copper and then etching it in the acid.

This is not the best photo but you can get the idea!

The little scottie dog is a bit faint but I love him any ways!!

Hope to have a bit better luck on these. 

So... Hopefully I shall be back to share more!

Hi there all!
Yes... I guess I am a little pooped out! 
But it is now wonder...To much partying and fun!!
I had such a blast last weekend with two of my little grandsons and then 
yesterday was a dear friends birthday.  So I have been on a roll!

Before I forget here is a photo I took of my friend and co worker Pat.
Her daughter is getting married next month. I made her  a set of wine glasses.

Hello my sweet friends!
It looks like I have been slacking off here in blog land. I must say that I haven't really
been slacking as much as thinking and re thinking blogging. Personally I enjoy it tremendously!!!
But several people whom I trust have at times mentioned to me -Is it a "Personal Blog" or is it a "Professional blog"? This simple question sadly stalled me out.... Gee, I am thinking
I love to talk about my work with my students here at the High School...But, I
also really love to share my latest art work with you (my readers) I also have a wild
and crazy personal life filled with hilarious things my darling grandson's do ....
So...That is what I have been stewing over for some time now :O( So sorry...

But I am back!! Yes I will continue to write as often as I have something to say!
If its about my work ok, if its about my latest art projects fine, and if its about my personal life great!

So as you can see I was letting a great deal of time slip by during the Lenten Photo Challenge.
