Summer time fun :O)

Hello my dear friends!
I hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful weather we are having!
At least here in New England the hot spell and rainy weather has cleared and it
is just lovely outside!

I am still in physical therapy for my "new hip" but things are coming along quite well!
While on the mend I have been keeping very busy with my art work. I have completed several
projects this summer.

As I mentioned before- I had a commission for 35 painted goblets.
The commission was for a (garden party themed) 60th Wedding Anniversary.
I painted red and maroon lilies, pink roses, white and pink glads, yellow daisies and sunflowers, purple and blue tulips.  The tables looked so lovely with the colorful tablecloths and painted glasses!

Just before the party weekend I also was asked to paint a silk altar cloth.
Again ...with the garden party in mind I painted roses and 2 roses were intertwined.

I also have taken some classes at "Diablo Glass School" in Boston.
*** Who knew working with glass and making fused glass
pieces would be so rewarding! I LOVE IT!***

Well, with a few more trips to Gloucester and Ogunquit... my summer will be complete.
How I do love the summertime!! Don't worry I will try not to get all teary eyed at the thought of
returning to work again! Teeheee

Of course I have plenty of art work in my plans as well as a trip to Louisville this fall.
All for now- Happy Friday and come back for a visit soon!
Love ya all!

Seneca Lake

Hi all and greetings from NY.
I am enjoying a few days of rest, relaxation, & sunshine!
So soon after my surgery I wasn't sure I would be able
To make the trip....but I am here (if only for a few days)
For the past three weeks I have been working
away on my painted water goblets I was commissioned for. I have painted a wide variety of flowers on them. From gladiolas to sunflowers and lillies.
Sadly I Have not been able to post any photos of the 35 goblets. But when I
return to my studio I will borrow Renee's camera and get them up.

As I said at the beginning of my post I am at Seneca Lake. I love how last night a HUGE
ORANGE moon rose over the water!!! Spectacular! Everyone has been kayaking, swimming,
Sitting on the decks and soaking up the view! Each night one couple prepares a special supper for all. Tonight Cookye & Eugene prepared their famous New Orleans shrimp boil!!!
Lots of lucious shrimp, little red potatoes, onions, corn on the cob and chunks of
Kielbasa. Delightful!

Tomorrow morning my husband will be down on the dock fishing with our oldest grandson.
I hope to bring out my watercolors and basically just enjoy the company of my family!
Back soon! hugs...Mary

I am doing quite well and really working hard on all of my PT excersizes!
Hard to believe it will be 2 years this September that I first
injured myself at the gym!! Yeah.....good ol Bootcamp took its toll on me.

While on the mend I have been skyping with my grandson who just turned 4.
we are making up stories and im illustrating them.  He is VERY into Dinosaurs at the moment.

Hopefully, if all continues to go well I will be able to hobble on over to the studio next week. I am so anxious to do some more serious painting and such.

So bear with me an I hope to post some photos of my latest artwork very soon!!
Hope you all are well and thank you so much for all the cards
and get well messages.

Schools Out For Summer!!

Like Alice Cooper's song goes...

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's "beautiful" looks!

Tee hee!!! yah  I changed that line a bit!
I never give dirty looks!!!  Not to my students at least!!
So today the last final exam was given and the last box of supplies
were carefully locked away unti _September!

I will be away from my computer for several days.
No.... not a trip to the Rockies or
The Carribean Sea... Nothing as lovely and relaxing as that.

I have surgery coming up next week.  I have high hopes that I will be back
 better than ever really soon!

So until then my friends I send your many hugs and
may you all enjoy these first few days Ah...Beautiful June!!

The School Year Is Winding Down!

Hi there my sweet friends!
Okay so how many of you are finding this month
flying by so fast it literally takes your breath away!!

Senior exams are done and there are only
2 more days of classes left for grades 9-11!!!!
 WOW !!

Sunday is graduation... And then all that is left is a week of finals for
the underclassmen!
Get my grades in and.....Here comes

SUMMER VACATION!
(Surgery too but its still SUMMER TIME BABY!!)

Funny thing is the weather has been very cold and raw.
I cannot say I really mind because so often the last days of school are hot, humid and
the classroom feels like a steambath.

At school I am also busy for hours at a time
cleaning the art room and packing up supplies
that will be put away for the summer.

A welcomed break in the evenings is what I call Blog surfing.
I have so many blogs I love to read. Some are pure artist blogs,
some devote the time to cooking or home organization.
I also love decorating blogs!

One in particular is having a great give away!
I love - The yellow Cape Cod!!
www.theyellowcapecod.com

The give away is a porcelain enameled sign from Ramisign.
I know I would love one for the front of my home :O)

Well that is it for this Monday evening!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Later Gator!
