December 29th 2010

Greetings Dear Friends!
I have returned from a wonderful 2 week vacation!
In that time I was blessed to be able to see my parents and
my brother and his family in Louisville. Spend Christmas Eve with my sister and her hubby.
And Christmas Day with my two precious daughters and their family!
Sandy and Carle had driven in from Indy and it was so wonderful to see my two girls together again! Of course I must say I was beyond thrilled to get to see my two grandsons come down the stairs on Christmas morning!
My vacation was pure joy!

A few more photos

Hi again!
Here are a few more photos from the "Artistry of Quilts "

Here I am with artist, Liama.

This is a close up view of one of her pieces.

This piece- "Northern Lights" is one of my favorite pieces by Liama

This beautiful quilt by Christine (Hopkington MA)
Has a wonderful 3d window effect.

Here is a quilt by Chris from Holden.
I need to get a shot of the backing from this quilt.
It is such a totally different fabric print from anything I have seen!

Is this beautiful or what???

Alica from Holden created this one. I hear she collected fabric from all her travels
to create this lovely garden.

Love the color contrasts in this one

by Donna from Holden
.

That's it for today

I hope you are enjoying the quilt exhibit
as much as I am enjoying

sharing it with you!

Wicked Cold!

Hello!
Yes, it is Wicked Cold here in New England !
My new puppy doesn't seem to really mind the cold snap.
But, when it rains forget it....I have to carry her outside.
She just will not tolerate the wetness. Now, I wonder how she will
do once the snow falls?

I have been trying to take photos of her but they just come out
like a little black blob. If I'm lucky her eyes glow red!
She is just so adorable I want to share her with the world! hee hee
I am running late this morning so Im dashing out the door after I write this.
The "Artistry of Quilts " was very well received!!! Everyone who comes in is
awestruck! No one more than my students!!!

Hang in there and I will return with some close up views.
have a great morning all!
Keep warm!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Come ye thankful people come...

Hello again my friends!
Busy as ever here at school.
I have had only a little free time to do some illustrations
for my Thanksgiving cards.
The other illustration I made was a little watercolor postcard.
My good friend Renee has a cousin down in Florida.
He is always joking about going fishing and the alligators that are there!
Since he rides his bike there to fish I made a little illustration-"Gator Boy"

Silly me... I didnt take a photo of all the Thanksgiving cards I designed...Augghh
Oh well ...
I do hope you all get to be with your family and friends this week!

I myself will be attending a wedding this Turkey Day!

NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL TURKEY EH????

We will be spending our Thanksgiving Day in a non Traditional way!
I'm so excited to be attending a Hindu Wedding!!!
Very dear friends of ours (from college ) has a son who is marrying
the love of his life on the 25th!
She is Indian and I can't wait to be there for their special day!

Hopefully I will have some photos to share when I return!
In the meantime have a LOVELY THANKSGIVING!!!
Back again really soon!

On the mend!

Well hello again!
You may have noticed I have been absent for a bit.
Two weeks ago today I had surgery. I had injured myself in "boot camp" at
the gym. (yeah... I know... What was I thinking??)
I'm on crutches and trying to get back into the swing of things at work.

Today is "Freshman Day" here at school. It is the day the freshmen find out
who their "Big sister" is that has been welcoming them here and suprising them with goodies
and notes these past few weeks.
I am armed with my camera and hope to get some cute shots.

Have a great weekend all and I shall return with photos!

And it continues to pour in the Northeast

Hello friends!

I am nice and warm and dry here at my computer but,
man...ohhhh man....
has it been raining the proverbial cats and dogs
here in New England!

My deck feels so slippery
I think the wood must be totally saturated.

This seems like a good night to continue with my post on St. James Court.
As it had to have been a blazing 101 degrees
the day Marlene and I went on the garden tour.

Here you see the grand
entrance to my home.

***Yeah right...don't I wish! Teeheee

This fountain and brick patio was unique for a back yard.

There is really something to be said for a shady
waterfall in a summers garden!

Actually we saw several waterfalls
Each one had a personality of its own

Note this cute frog fountain!
(top left corner)

When I saw this little table...
I thought it would make a sweet little painting!

And speaking of painting...
One garden had several artist's working in various mediums

I will end this posting for tonight with a glimpse
through the garden gate.

Have a lovely evening and
I will be back again really soon!
